Source requirements and report boundaries
- The source CSV must contain one row per open invoice with customer, invoice number, due date, and outstanding amount.
- Direct CSV input is limited to 5 MB. Split larger exports before using this page.
- Choose the source amount format explicitly. Dot-decimal and comma-decimal amounts cannot be mixed in one report.
- Currency selection changes labels only; the tool does not convert currencies or combine different currencies.
- Changing the report date does not reconstruct historical balances. A past period requires an open-invoice export or saved balance snapshot from that date.
- Review bands come from the oldest positive overdue invoice. They are not bad-debt predictions, legal advice, or collection instructions.
- The printable summary shows at most 100 customers and 100 invoice rows; CSV downloads contain every included row.
Calculation method & official sources4 steps
Calculation method and references
- Days past due equals the selected report date minus each invoice due date.
- Positive invoices are grouped into Current, 1-30, 31-60, 61-90, and 91+ day buckets; negative balances are listed separately as credits and are not aged.
- Customer totals combine included rows; the oldest positive overdue invoice sets the transparent age-based review band.
- Invalid and zero-balance rows are excluded and listed. Duplicate customer-plus-invoice keys block the report until the source has exactly one row per invoice.

FAQ
Can I see an accounts receivable aging report example first?
Yes. Choose Use example data to add a worked open-invoice CSV with current and overdue rows. Generate the report to inspect the bucket totals, customer summary, invoice detail, and downloadable output before using your own file.
Which columns does the CSV need?
Each row needs a customer, invoice number, due date, and outstanding amount. The page detects common headers and lets you confirm the four mappings, date format, and amount format before generating the report.
How are invoices assigned to aging buckets?
The selected report date is compared with each due date. Not-yet-due invoices are Current; overdue invoices go into 1-30, 31-60, 61-90, or 91+ days.
Does this upload invoice or customer data?
No. CSV parsing, aging calculations, copying, printing, and report downloads run in this browser. Basic analytics record only page and tool actions and never read invoice data, filenames, or report contents.
What happens to credits and bad rows?
Negative balances are included in net outstanding but shown in a separate credits row; they do not reduce positive overdue buckets. Invalid and zero-balance rows are excluded. Duplicate customer-plus-invoice keys block the report so the page never guesses whether rows should be summed or deduplicated. Every issue can be downloaded as CSV.
