How the random draw works
A Fisher-Yates shuffle uses rejection-sampled Web Crypto positions. Each retained line position is treated uniformly, and picking multiple items does not repeat a position in the same draw.
Privacy and fair-use boundary
Raw lines and results stay in this tab and are not stored or sent to analytics. The browser limit is 10,000 non-blank items or 500,000 characters. For regulated or high-stakes drawings, use an independently auditable process.

How do I randomize a list?
Paste one item per line, choose Shuffle the full list, and click Shuffle list. Blank lines are removed automatically. You can then copy, download, or shuffle again.
Can I use this as a random name picker?
Yes. Paste the names, then choose Pick one item or Pick multiple items. A single draw never repeats the same retained line position.
Do duplicate names change the odds?
Yes. When duplicates are kept, every occurrence occupies a slot and repeated names have extra chances. Turn on Remove exact duplicates to give each trimmed, case-sensitive line one slot.
Is my list uploaded or stored?
No. The tool runs in your browser and stores only the tool identifier in recent-tool history. Analytics use count buckets and settings only, never pasted lines or generated results.
How random and fair is the shuffle?
The tool uses the Fisher-Yates algorithm with rejection-sampled Web Crypto positions, so each retained list position is treated uniformly. It cannot prove who supplied the original list or provide an independently auditable draw record.
Can I use this for a regulated or high-stakes drawing?
Use it for everyday and informal choices. For legal, regulated, prize, admissions, or other high-stakes drawings, use an independently witnessed or auditable process with published eligibility rules.
